Troubles for Jamie Gold

A British television producer has filed a suit against Jamie Gold, the 2006 WSOP winner, alleging that the former Hollywood agent made a deal with him to share the winnings in exchange for recruiting celebrities to back the Bodog Group that was sponsoring Gold.

The name of the accuser is Bruce Crispin Leyser and he claims to have phone messages, recorded the day before the main event took place, in which Gold confirms the fifty-fifty agreement.

In the claim, Leyser said that Gold told him: “I wanted to let you know about the money. I have the best tax attorneys and the best minds in the business working for me from New York and L.A., and what we\'re probably going to do is set up a Nevada corporation, and it\'s going to ... have to pay out of the corporation. I can\'t just pay out personally because I could get nailed.”

In a press release, Gold explained that he was disappointed that a person he only knows since July had chosen to file a lawsuit against him instead of discussing the matter and finding a solution to it.
